Welcome to our Amazing Interns - Jess and Sarah

Jess Ervin

Jess Ervin

Jess Ervin

Jess is currently a student of Human Services through Metropolitan State University and has chosen to make her emphasis on theory and practice in Mental Health Counseling. Prior to moving to the Arkansas River Valley, she was actively involved in The Greenway Foundation in Denver, working with inner-city youth and environmental education on the Platte River. She also has a background as a crew leader for adolescents at Southwest Conservation Corps based out of Durango, Colorado.

Jess loves being outside and believes that getting back to nature is one of the best ways to heal the soul. As an intern with FCRJ, she is eager to take these past experiences and continue to build her knowledge with a fresh start in a new community. Learning more about restorative justice and becoming a part of the RJ advocate family is a goal not only to be achieved during her final semester at Metro, but also long term as she finds her place within the field.

Sarah Green

Sarah has lived in Chaffee County for six years with her two fabulous sons.  She currently works with the Nurturing Parenting Program in Chaffee County and is working towards her Masters in Social Work through Colorado State University.  She has chosen Full Circle Restorative Justice for her school internship because she is passionate about seeing communities grow and heal.  Restorative Justice offers an opportunity to repair harm and address injustices in a format that often brings empathy and understanding, and one that is difficult to experience through the traditional justice system. “Learning to respond in a way that addresses the victims’ needs is a vital piece of healing the wounds created through injustice.” Being a part of FCRJ feels like a great way for her to support the continued positive growth of the community.

In her free time Sarah enjoys outdoor activities such as swimming in the river and mountain biking, as well as walking on her hands, and performing on stilts with the Salida Circus. She is fluent in Spanish and hopes to continue outreach to our Spanish speaking population.  Sarah feels privileged to live in Chaffee County amidst this creative, caring and thoughtful community.
