Last October, Chaffee County’s commissioners endorsed Full Circle Restorative Justice’s proposal to make October Conflict Resolution Month. This year, FCRJ is hoping to use the month to educate people on some peaceful ways to resolve their conflicts.
It’s a gift to be able to make a difference in another person’s life. This is my experience as a volunteer facilitator for Full Circle Restorative Justice of Salida and the Insight Prison Project, serving men incarcerated in the Buena Vista Correctional Facility.
Restorative justice is more than a concept. It puts offenders and victims on a path to reconciliation and growth.
As October is designated Conflict Resolution Month and there is such a need these days for tools to deal effectively with disputes and disagreements, it’s timely to remind readers of a valuable local resource whose mission is to promote peace and community justice through dialogue and conflict resolution.
Thank you all so very much for your energy and contributions to the past weekend. It was an honor to meet each and every one of you, and to reconnect with others! We really appreciate feedback of all kinds as we strive to provide the best and most professionally-organized experience possible.

This training is for caring individuals and concerned citizens of our community interested in promoting peace and justice by becoming facilitators of Restorative Circles (victim-offender conferences) -- for new and/or experienced volunteers.

In 2004, I was falsely accused of a crime. I did not foresee how this unfortunate situation was going to morph into changing many lives in a positive way. In 2006, I founded Full Circle Restorative Justice in Chaffee County Colorado.
